Duct Tape Queen Of Hearts

Made out of duct tape for Duck Brand Duct Tape's Annual Stick or Treat contest, this dress not only earned me 2nd place in the contest but also landed me a job with the company. As of March 2009 I became the official duct tape artist for Duck Brand Duct Tape. This Deviation also earned me my first Daily Deviation as of 10-15-2008, thanks to all of you who fav, comment, and view my art.

Meet 23-year-old Amanda Richardson – crafter, animal-lover and duct tape artist. Duct tape? You bet! Amanda started to incorporate duct tape as an art medium in January 2007, when her sister, Sami, showed her how to make a duct tape rose – and Amanda ended up using all of her duct tape! Beyond roses, her duct tape artwork portfolio consists of everything from roses to corsets made from duct tape and sculptures for the Sixth-Annual Avon Heritage Duct Tape Festival, Avon, Ohio, over Father’s Day Weekend. Her favorite colors of duct tape include all the neon colors, especially Funky Flamingo™ (pink), and she never throws any duct tape away – she combines the scraps into a duct tape ball, which now weighs 25 pounds! A resident of Ohio, Amanda’s love of art also extends to other methods, including drawing, painting, sculpting miniature clay charms, customizing My Little Ponies and sewing. Prior to becoming a duct tape artist, Amanda worked at two animal hospitals and helped start the Avon Lake 4-H Club, having been a 4-H member for 10 years.

Want to own some of my duct tape art?

Journal Entry: Sun Oct 18, 2009, 3:31 PM
So I went to my city's local animal shelter fundraiser today which was a Halloween party for dogs. My boyfriend, Jimmy and my puppy, Benjamin ended up taking home the owner/pet look alike award.

Long story short prior to working as Duck Brand's official duct tape artist I was a vet tech/Kennel worker for 5 years. I also used to volunteer to walk the dogs up at the local shelter. Well I really miss doing work for the well being of animals and I figured since I'm short on time perhaps I will make a donation instead. I thought that auctioning off some of my duct tape art would help me make a more substantial donation to Love-A-Stray (website [link] )
which is where I adopted my second dog from and hope to adopt another again as soon as I can find one that is the right fit for my home.
At this point I'm trying to figure out which route to take as far as what to make and put up for auction. I created a poll where you could let me know what you would most likely bid on. Right now its looking like a gift basket or two might be what I end up doing. If you have ideas for specific things like if the baskets should be themed around animals or not or perhaps something else I'd like to get your feedback. Also if you would like to donate anything to the gift baskets please contact me via note and we can discuss it.

Okay I have a pretty good idea of what items you be would be most willing to bid on. Now what is your price range? I'm going to put together 2-3 gift baskets (1 high priced, 1 medium priced, and 1 low priced) see my most recent journal if you are confused
